Nearly one month ago I've released version 0.3.0 of the SpeexX Pebble Extensions with age based response handling. Now it is time to take an interim result. Before installing the age based handling system anonymous users post nearly 100-150 comment and trackbackspams a day over anonymous proxies. Most spam was filtered by Pebbles ContentSpamListener and the well defined regular expression list. They reached the threshold and were removed from the system automatically. But nearly 10 percent of the spam didn't reached the threshold barrier and weren't removed by the DeleteRejectedListener. The got the PENDING state and must be checked manualy. A few entries in a week passed the system and enter the public comment area.

Normaly all response spam comes to entries which are older than 60 days. The age based system forbids responses to entries which are older than 30 days by default (you are able to configure it over a property). It marks them with the state REJECTED, the DeleteRejectedListener deletes them.

A couple of days after installing and configurating the age based system the response spam ends. Abrupt. Only a testspam one or two times a week. The administration time for spam handling was reduced to nearly zero. The result is great and impressive.
